A GAME, AN ART, A PHILOSOPHY?: Siete piezas chinas (Seven Chinese Pieces) 2006

As you can read in its respective didactic guide, this is the first concept album. Although it was published three years ago, it had probably been developing before then. Since MIRADORES was born without pretensions, I was encouraged, perhaps by the emergence of the internet and primitive websites like Windows Space, to publish this work, which emerged from some Tangram-based activities with my elementary school students. In this case, it was the title before the pieces (hence the double meaning).

Personally, it was a turbulent period emotionally that ended in an agreed divorce and also coincided with

Plateroideologia, which was being created at the same time. I don't know how I managed it. My love life was shattering while my artistic life was flourishing.

Although it can't be called an album of traditional Chinese music, it contains elements closely linked to it.

The cover, like all of them, was my own work, and it took me many hours to achieve the desired effect.

The pieces were chosen as much for their compositional possibilities as for their aesthetics and variety. We hear the fluttering of butterflies or the solemnity of Buddhist monasticism, and so on.

The production had the same fate as the previous album: homemade and with whatever means possible.

None of these works had any repercussions on music critics. At the time, that didn't bother me. I didn't need to feed off of art.

I posted my works on my Space, and that is all.
