Donkey to call man like that: Asnografría (Donkeygraphy) 2009

In 2009, I published Asnografía a new reading of Juan Ramón Jiménez's novel, Platero y yo. Using and applying the distinguished writer's remarkabout the stupidity of comparing human beings to donkeys. The cover is my own work, and I'm most satisfied with its impact.

Although you can find details about this work in the didactic guide, note that the roles are reversed. The donkey ceases to be the leitmotiv andbecomes the secondary motif. Stylistically, it also follows a different path. Some themes reveal the state of melancholy I was in as a Nocturne,although it's true that my compositional work ran parallel to my personal work. I was a plank in my own ocean.

It was that year that, thanks to Luis Félix Parodi, my piano technique and musical construction model improved considerably.

Personally, my mother's delicate health began to wreak havoc, and I found myself vulnerable and without support except for the consolation ofParodi and Itziar, and taking refuge in my music. The reunion with an old love brought me back to Brazil, and, blinded by it, I abandoned all myacademic plans.
