The Nature romantic: Cuaderno de campo: de marismas, ríos y mares (Notebook: marshes, rivers and seas about) 2011

In 2011, a false hope of finding a solution to my serious vision problems took me to Düsseldorf, Germany. An expensive and unsuccessful stem cell treatment proved fruitless. I asked my older brother, a nurse, to accompany me during a complicated situation in his life, where he was living with my mother, and her mental health was also worsening. He agreed, even though he knew about her fear of flying, almost as a brotherly obligation.

Goethe Düsseldorf Museum

Those days, despite the unfortunate success, were wonderful. I understand that he was offered a golden opportunity to get to know anexemplary city and country. Perhaps he was a bit indolent, and I lacked the gratitude and patience for such long walks.

Today, I am grateful for his curiosity, for making the most of that beautiful German city.

What surprised me most was the lack of noise pollution and the politeness of its people.

This album was born after that visit to the Goethe Museum, the Romantic poet by nature.

The didactic guide covers more detailed aspects. Here, briefly, we will point out that the orchestral structure that had prevailed until then isreduced to a trio of piano, clarinet, and accordion. This is no coincidence, since the predecessor was Rei Borghetti's O último tucunaré.

It is an album of non-programmatic, non-incidental music, but rather emotional music, whose titles appear after the compositions, although thereis a close relationship between Alfombra marismeña and the semantic content of Andalusian music.

I wanted to break away from what I had published until then.

On my recent trip to Scotland in 2023, I was left with the urge to visit Fingal's Cave, which curiously appears in this work and where, curiously, FelixMendelsohn also wrote a wonderful piece. Precisely German and romantic.
