As we noted previously, a second edition of music for violins, viola, and cello was not foreseeable, but it happened.

During these years, I became more passionate about fado and Brazilian sertaneja music. Inspired by this, I composed one for each genre or style. The other two are reinterpretations of the classical and romantic worlds.

Reading about fado and watching videos of Ribeiro de Almeida playing Portuguese guitar and Magalhães playing cavaco were essential for writing the fado quartets. While neither of them is directly related to fado, they are certainly related to the atmosphere that permeates traditional Portuguese music.
